In-laws First Solo Day

Yesterday was the first whole day that my inlaws have watched Z since he has become a precocious toddler. After the way our week started, with them getting used to all of the new crap they would have to carry around, I figured that it might be harder on them than they initially thought. They aren’t old or decrepit, Z just requires everyone else to run on the same amount of energy that he does.

I spent the whole day at work worrying about him and praying that he would be tolerable at least. Apparently, I worried for nothing. I got home and he was sitting on the couch with his Papa eating barbecue potato chips with a bowl of fresh peach cut up in front of him. I would have picked the chips too if I were him. Nothing against peach but junk food is always good especially since I never buy much of it. I got to hear about how he went out for breakfast and ate all of his meat and eggs but wouldn’t eat pancakes. Then he went to Target and roamed the store. He only came home with a toy shark, a book and some kids songs CDs. I have to admit they must have done pretty good to keep from coming home with a cart full of crap like we usually do. They rounded out the outing with a trip to the grocery where they got some eggs (we had 2 dozen, now we have 3) and lunchmeat and other miscellaneous goods that we don’t usually stock. They cam home, Z took a 2 hour nap, played a bunch and ate snacks the rest of the day.

Nobody seemed worse for wear except maybe me last night. I was exhausted and layed down around 8 and fell asleep. I didn’t get my hug and kiss night-night and Z wasn’t up when I left for work today. I miss him so much right now it hurts.
