So this is what I made for my Mom’s birthday present. You can find the pattern at Good Knits for free if you are interested. My mom absolutely loved them and was asking me all kinds of details about how I made them. It was very flattering since she has been hooking for longer than I have. I will definately be making more of these in the future. You can go to my Ravelry page if you want to know all the details about yarn and stuff that I used. I am trying to figure out this Flickr stuff for on here but it doesn’t seem to be cooperating with me today. Maybe it has something to do with the rain or the fact that it is Monday. Who knows?
Sorry I have been gone for so long. I do miss writing so very much but things have been quite hectic for me recently. Excuses, I know. Let me give you a quick rundown of what’s been going on.
I’ve had strep for the past two weeks. Fun. Going to work and staying there has taken extreme effort.
I have been ridiculously busy at work since the beginning of the year. I had a really bad end-of-year review and I have been working hard at trying to improve. Plus, things have been not running smoothly in the 2 units that I am responsible for. Also, I have had some major deadlines recently. Since I tend to post at lunch, all of this work stuff has been hampering my writing.
I have gotten hooked on Facebook and Mafia Wars. I know, what a waste of time. Time management is not always one of my strong points especially when I am so brain-dead from work that I just need some good mindless activities.
We bought a Playstation3. Yeah, my kid is 2 and a half but we didn’t buy it for him. We bought it for us. And no it wasn’t just for the cool Blueray player. It was the whole package that sold us. We have MotorStorm Pacific Rift, Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Jeopardy (sucks), Wheel of Fortune (sucks), Pain and LittleBigPlanet. I think those are all of the games we have. Not sure.
And the last excuse I have is that one of my previous posts upset somebody near and dear to me and it made me a little apprehensive about posting. I still haven’t decided how I feel about it other than I am not going to remove the post from my site. It is a s**tty situation but one I was somewhat expecting when I wrote the post. I didn’t do it to pick a fight or cause trouble, I did it because writing about it makes me feel better.
The holiday season is oficially here. That is why I have been so distant. My in-laws were in town for the past week so HH and I have been busy entertaining and such. Thanksgiving went off without too much of a hitch. Everyone left our house stuffed and sleepy. With only one more holiday left this year, it looks as though it will have been a great year with lots to be thankful for. My only hope is that christmas is as good as the rest of the year has been. The holidays have always been a very stressful time for me and all I can do is hope that all continues to go well.
